Social Media Awareness and Mental Health
September 13, 2017 - In partnership with High Park School, Stony Plain Central School and Woodhaven Middle School, Greystone Centennial Middle School is proud to welcome broadcaster and author Wade Sorochan to their building on Wednesday, September 27 at 11am.
Mr. Sorochan will be presenting to Grade 7-9 students about the importance of maintaining a healthy balance between the real and digital worlds. He will share his story with students, and discuss strategies that can help address some of the negative feelings people may experience as a result of spending time online. We are hopeful these sessions have a positive impact on the junior high students at our schools.
Research into student resiliency and support has highlighted the importance of maintaining strong connections between children and the adults in their lives. As such, we are also hosting a FREE information session with Wade Sorochan for parents of our students.
Date: Thursday, September 28
Location: Stony Plain Central School (5108-55 Avenue, Stony Plain)
Though this session is free of charge, we request that interested participants register for the event so we can confirm attendance numbers and ensure we have enough space available.
To register for Wade Sorochan's session, please complete and submit this online registration form.
We look forward to seeing you there!
